ANNE'S BACKGROUND
I am a Professor Emerita at Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN. I have been a college teacher for over 30 years, teaching and developing curriculum in professional writing, rhetoric, gender studies, information literacy, and digital storytelling.
I am a Teaching Artist at The Loft Literary Center, where I teach classes in digital storytelling.
I have a digital storytelling consulting business, Digital Story Makers, which offers workshops and assistance in creating digital stories.
I have won multiple teaching awards at Metro State, including the Outstanding Teacher Award (2017), the Foundation Faculty Excellence Award (2010), and the Excellence in Teaching Award (2005).
I have a B.A. in English from Yale University and a Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric from the University of Minnesota.
In recent years, I've taken classes and workshops at StoryCenter, the MPLS Photo Center, Adobe Education Exchange, SPNN, and Film North, as well as in Metropolitan State's studio arts and screenwriting programs.
I love to bicycle, play tennis, and create interesting Photoshop compositions featuring my standard poodle, Rafa.
